2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here!”
It’s 2020. It’s a new year, a new decade. We set new goals, have new beginnings, and have new ideas. It’s a time we typically feel more motivated because we put the past behind us and look ahead. We feel excited and refreshed.
As I’ve reflected on 2019 and am eager about a new year, I have been reminded that God’s mercies are new every morning, no matter what time of year. Christ has made us new in Him, and the old is gone when we turn our lives over to Him. That sense of “newness” doesn’t have to be (and shouldn’t be) just a feeling at the start of the year. It is a joyful, daily reality of our hope in Jesus and the price he paid for our lives.
