“A dream is a wish your heart makes.” Anyone recognize that quote? Cinderella has always been one of my favorite Disney movies. Cinderella is a simple girl. She is a dreamer. And she falls in love with a Prince. Can we mention those cute mice too?
Dreams are so neat. They are opportunities to think beyond what we think is possible and to think about the future. Dreams can be dangerous too, I believe, for if we place our hope in them, we will be disappointed.
I believe God uses the desires of our hearts to see into his heart for us. That while we may have plans for our future, we must remember that His plans and desires for our lives are what matter.
Some of our dreams come true, and some of our dreams are crushed. I believe that many of our crushed dreams can act as a launch pad into something greater that God has for us. I believe that it can be difficult as a human to have dreams that completely line up with God’s plans, which may be why we feel like so many dreams don’t come true. Through this, I think that He wants us to seek Him more as we seek His plans for our lives.
I have had some of these crushed dreams, and they aren’t fun, but I’ve also had some dreams come true. One of those happens to be the man God gave to me as my husband. Thankful for His plans, His timing, and for my husband’s heart.
Proverbs 16:9 “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”
Psalm 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
Psalm 27:14 “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord.”
