Do you feel yourself constantly rushing around, always preparing for the next thing? Do you reach the end of the day with a completed to-do list and yet feel unfulfilled? I’ll admit, I feel that way a bit too often. Instead of continuing at that pace, I’ve come up with a few strategies to help me slow down. Maybe they will help you – if not, come up with your own list and share it!

  • Select the slowest shipping time for that online order (that you probably don’t need anyways)
  • Wait a week after the release before watching the newest episode of your favorite show
  • Hold off replying to that email, message, or tweet for a few hours (and until you have fully thought through the response)
  • Go for a walk, ride a bike, or play with your kids
  • Plant a garden – any size will do! Enjoy the time away from the hurried, connected world
  • Read the Bible
  • Hangout with a toddler and realize that their childish tantrums for immediacy are no different than your own
